Team CardiStar's

Below, you can read more about us, our dream for our breeding program, and how we work with our values, experience, and vision to create healthy and happy dogs. We share what drives us as breeders, how we prioritize responsibility, socialization, and well-being, and why we believe that good breeding is about more than pedigrees — it is about love, care, and a lifelong commitment to the dogs we bring into the world

Our Background

My name is Stephanie, and I am the owner of Kennel CardiStar’s. In my everyday life, I work as a night caregiver for respiratory patients in their own homes — a job I truly love and find deeply rewarding.

My interest in dogs began in childhood, as I grew up with Rottweilers and Bernese Mountain Dogs. However, it is the Welsh Corgi Cardigan that has truly captured my heart, and today this is the breed to which I dedicate my time, passion, and commitment.

Our first Welsh Corgi Cardigan joined our family in 2019, and over time my interest in both showing and breeding grew rapidly. I see dog shows as an important part of my breeding program and participate actively, both nationally and internationally, in order to evaluate and develop the quality of the breed and to ensure that my dogs meet the breed standard.

To be able to run a responsible and serious breeding program, I completed the Danish Kennel Club’s breeder education in 2020, and in 2021 my kennel name — CardiStar’s — was officially approved. The name combines “Cardigan” and “Star,” as we see every dog from our breeding as a little star we are incredibly proud of.

In June 2021, CardiStar’s first litter, the A-litter, was born. Since then, our pack has grown, and over the years we have welcomed several wonderful litters, all of whom have received a loving and secure start to life in our home.

In 2025, I was elected to the Health Committee of the Welsh Corgi Club, and I am pleased to contribute to safeguarding the health and well-being of the breed — something I see as a natural extension of my work as a breeder. In addition, I am also part of the Activities Committee on Funen, where I hope to organize exciting and enjoyable activities for the club’s members.

I was born in 1990 and originally come from Vejle, but in 2016 I moved to Bogense in North Funen after meeting the love of my life, Brian. He had very little experience with dogs, as there were none in his childhood home. Nevertheless, from the very beginning he has shown great joy and interest in our dogs and is now an indispensable part of my breeding program and kennel operation. Without his support — and patience — none of this would be possible. He is actively involved in the dogs’ daily lives, both with the adult dogs and when we have puppies, and his dedication makes a significant difference.

I have my son, Liam, born in 2012, from a previous relationship. Liam lives with us in Bogense and, like the rest of the family, is a natural part of the dogs’ lives. Together with Brian, I have a daughter, Enya, born in 2017. Enya has always had a special interest in the dogs and has been a big part of my breeding program from the beginning. She participates in dog shows and has been involved in showing our dogs from a very young age — in fact, since she was just three years old.

At CardiStar’s, the entire family is an integral part of the kennel’s daily life, and our dogs grow up surrounded by care and attention from both adults and children.

Our vision and dreams

At Kennel CardiStar’s, our vision is to breed healthy, happy, and breed-typical Welsh Corgi Cardigans. We strive to produce dogs that not only meet the breed standard in appearance, but also possess a stable temperament, mental strength, and a personality that makes them wonderful family companions.

We breed under the Danish Kennel Club and the Welsh Corgi Club, and we strictly follow all ethical guidelines and recommendations to ensure that our breeding is always carried out with responsibility, care, and respect for the dogs.

All of our puppies are raised in our home and become a natural part of our daily life from day one. They receive plenty of care, socialization, and meaningful stimulation, allowing them to grow into well-balanced and confident dogs that thrive both physically and mentally.

Our goal is to breed puppies of high quality, and we never compromise on health, temperament, or breed type. For this reason, we often travel to mate our bitches and collaborate with carefully selected breeders around the world. We have imported several dogs into our breeding program and have also imported semen from both Europe and the USA. This allows us to achieve the exact combinations we believe in and provides the best possible foundation for producing healthy, mentally strong, and breed-typical puppies.

We consider the entire family to be an integral part of our breeding program. Our dogs are a natural part of our everyday life, and we believe that involvement from both adults and children plays an important role in shaping happy and well-adjusted dogs. Our aim is to make a positive contribution to the breed, help secure its future, and at the same time raise dogs that both we and our puppy buyers can be proud of.

In short, our dream is to breed Welsh Corgi Cardigans with heart, care
and passion — dogs that bring joy and become beloved members of their families for many years to come.
