Unannounced kennel inspection by the Danish Kennel Club
On 12 December 2025, we had an unannounced kennel inspection by the Danish Kennel Club.
The inspector reviewed the dogs’ everyday life and living conditions with us - from care and well-being to their environment and overall facilities.
The entire report consisted exclusively of green smileys, and we received a very positive and appreciative comment stating that our home is a wonderful place to be a dog.
We are both proud and grateful for this, as the dogs’ well-being and quality of life
are always our highest priority
What is a kennel inspection?
An unannounced kennel inspection visit by the Danish Kennel Club (DKK) is a control visit in which DKK arrives without prior notice to check
that a breeder complies with DKK’s rules and guidelines for dog breeding.
In short, it is about the dogs welfare, responsible breeding, and proper conditions.
What is the purpose?
DKK conducts unannounced visits in order to:
-
Ensure that the dogs have good and appropriate living conditions
-
Check that the breeding complies with DKK’s ethical rules
-
Protect both the dogs and puppy buyers
-
Respond to random spot checks or any reported concerns
What is typically inspected?
During an unannounced visit, the inspector may, among other things, look at:
-
The dogs’ overall well-being and health
-
Space, cleanliness, and hygiene (indoors and, if applicable, outdoors)
-
Socialization and care of puppies and adult dogs
-
Whether the dogs have access to food, water, and appropriate exercise
Documentation, such as:
-
Registration with the Danish Kennel Club (DKK)
-
Pedigree records
-
Any relevant health examinations
