The Magical Dogs of the Fairies
Close your eyes for a moment… and let me take you far, far back in time.
So far back that stories and legends were shared only by word of mouth - around the fire, beneath the stars, in whispers and laughter.
"This is the tale of how the Corgi became human's most loyal friend.
A Corgi is not just an ordinary dog. No - the Corgi is a gift.
A gift from the enchanting fairies!
Many, many years ago, small and wise fairies lived deep within the forests of Wales.
They were brave, kind, and a little mischievous - just like their companions: small dogs with short legs, long backs, and large, alert ears. These dogs were called Corgis.
The fairies used their Corgis to pull their fine carriages, and when they rode into battle,
it was upon the backs of these small but valiant dogs.
Corgis were loyal and fearless - they would pass through fire, water, and darkness to protect their fairy folk.
And in times of peace, they helped herd animals across the fields,
just as they do today - with cleverness and speed.
But one day, everything changed.
Two young human boys were out in the fields watching over their family’s sheep
when they noticed something in the grass.
Two small, red creatures lay sleeping in the sun.
“Look! Foxes!” they said, and gently carried them home.
But when their parents looked more closely, they smiled and shook their heads - for these were no foxes.
No, they were two of the fairies’ own Corgis!
The fairies had given the family a gift - two loyal, brave dogs to help herd the animals, keep watch, and bring joy.
The Corgis quickly settled in and the family loved them dearly.
And from that day on, Corgis have been human's friends, protectors, and helpers.
And do you know what?
If you look closely at your Corgi today - just behind the front legs - you may sometimes see a faint,
light marking in the fur. A kind of mark.
It is said to be the mark left by the fairies’ harnesses and saddles - a magical reminder
of where your dog truly comes from.
So always remember to love your Corgi and take good care of it.
For if you do - then the fairies will take good care of you and your family as well.”
