Welsh Corgi Cardigan

The Cardigan Welsh Corgi is a small but sturdy breed that originates from Wales in England. The name “Cardigan” is a reference to the area of Cardiganshire where the breed was first bred back in the 12th century.

The breed is known for its distinctive appearance with its long but muscular body, short legs and happy expression. The body is covered in a soft, medium-length double coat consisting of a thick undercoat and water-repellent hairs. The coat is self-cleaning and easy to maintain.
The breed sheds a fair amount a couple of times a year. The tail is usually long and bushy and the ears are erect.

Welsh Corgi Cardigans are happy, loving and loyal. They are often very devoted to their owners and make excellent family dogs for the active family. One of their qualities is their kindness and patience with children.
They are known to have a high energy level and require regular exercise and activity to stay happy and healthy. The Cardigan Corgi is also known to be good at learning tricks and commands as they are intelligent and eager to learn new things.

The Cardigan Welsh Corgi is a versatile breed that can be used as a companion and working dog. They are known to be good herding dogs and have a natural instinct to drive animals.

It is a vocal breed with a tendency to bark quite a bit.

The Welsh Corgi Cardigan is generally a healthy breed and it is not unusual for them to live to be 10-14 years old.
